Ramen Kundu, Ph.D. Ramendra Kundu received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Calcutta University. He has expertise in the generation of transgenic and knockout animals, technology he learned at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he made the Factor IX knockout and the HIV-1 tat transgenic animal. Since joining Stanford University, he has made two further knockout animals and provided significant support to other fellows in the generation of four more knockouts models, related to integrins and immunoglobulin-like genes. In addition, he has developed the matrigel plug assay and investigated tumor angiogenesis in these mice.
