| Josh Spin, Ph.D., MD. Joshua Spin is a fellow in the division of Cardiovascular Medicine. He conducted undergraduate studies on the upregulation of apolipoprotein E by activation of hepatic heparan-sulfate proteoglycan receptors in the lab of Andre Bensadoun, PhD. He attended medical school at Boston Univeristy, and earned a PhD in Biophysics while probing the structure of human low density lipoprotein using transmission cryoelectron microscopy under the mentorship of David Atkinson, PhD. He is currently investigating the biology of vascular smooth muscle cells. Joshua is the recipient of an NRSA grant and a Stanford Dean’s Fellowship, and intends to pursue an academic research career in cardiovascular medicine.
